This workshop is designed as a refresher on psychometric theory and principles in the use of psychological tests. It contains important information for psychometrists wishing to write the Board exam in order to register with the Health Professions Council of South African (HPCSA) as a psychometrist in independent practice.
This day will also highlight the basic need to understand and investigate the psychometric properties of any assessment used in the South African context, in order to ensure that the assessment measure is legally defensible when used to make decisions about people. This is the guiding principle behind the content of this workshop.
