In essence, Facilitation is the intentional action taken by a facilitator to aid progress in a way that is both simple and accessible to others.
In today’s world Individuals, Teams and Organisations are faced with a number of highly complex challenges which are often evident yet difficult to define and meet. Our thinking is often be clouded by the content of the challenge, varying interests, and a complex combination of stakeholders which invariably contributes to a lack of focus and direction. As a team member, consultant, manager or leader you can take this opportunity to learn about ways and means to facilitate a processes by which you can simplify complex challenges while at the same time obtaining input from and integrating varying perspectives.
What is the aim of the course?
The training course is focused on enabling participants to harness the diversity and creativity within individuals and teams to facilitate processes in highly complex situations whether on an individual, group or organisational in a manner that promotes growth in an uncomplicated and accessible way. The course focuses on the principles underlying facilitation and in essence participants will learn how to facilitate processes.

What will participants learn?
The training course will assist participants to:
- understand theories and processes underlying facilitation
- understand the principles underlying and the techniques used in preparing for a facilitated process
- create a process taking into consideration the nature of the situation that is both measured and practical
- on a group level, read an audience, the interpersonal dynamics and processes through which groups move during a facilitated process
- on an individual level, understand the phases of awareness through which participants gain perspective and understanding
- understand the techniques, skills, and methods in dealing with difficult issues so as to resolve conflict in a empathic manner
- learn about the role of the facilitator
In addition, participants will be able to:
- observe experienced facilitators in action
- apply facilitation skills in a simulated environment using personal “real-life” examples
- receive feedback on their impact from experienced facilitators and other participants on skill and style
What is the duration? Two days.
