Death is a given in life, so equip yourself as best you can to help those around you deal with it, when it happens. This workshop is designed for professionals working with clients who are dealing with issues around grief, loss or bereavement. The workshop will address adult grief, loss and bereavement and will also look at how children grieve.

CV of the Trainer
Jill Knott is a Social Worker and Head of the Psychosocial Services Department at the Hospice of the Witwatersrand. She has 20 years experience working for Hospice in work that involves counselling patients and their families and partners. Jill also does bereavement counselling and provides training around death and dying and dealing with grief, loss and bereavement for teachers and other professionals. She has completed research, written and published articles around grief and bereavement, written a chapter published by Oxford Press about counselling for HIV and Aids patients, published an article around legal aspects of palliative care and grant application, and created a module for a HPCSA social work palliative care course. In addition, she co-developed ‘The magical maze journey’, a board game to help bereaved children, and has been a guest speaker on radio a number of times. Jill also runs a small private practice in her own time.
